The big news in Vanguard is that the Battlefield division has come back into the fold in preparation for its change into Battlefield One. BF1 has seen an incredible level of hype online, mainly focussed around its perceived rivalry with the Call of Duty series. With a brand new World War I setting, cavalry mounts and more, there has never been a better time to drop in for a game with the Battlefield One team! Meanwhile, StarMade has experienced a massive turnaround in fortunes. At one point, it looked like the game might not make it out of Vanguard, but a few subtle tweaks on how the servers are being run has seen a seismic shift. There are even a few developers playing with TAW! |
One of the biggest recent success stories has been Escape From Tarkov. The game labels itself as a ‘hardcore and realistic online first-person action RPG/Simulator with MMO features and story-driven walkthrough’…quite a mouthful. The game is still in closed alpha, however in spite of that the team have recruited around 85 members; to make the feat even more impressive, this is without multiplayer even being fully supported yet! Massive props must go to Natalino, described by a member of his CoC as ‘a star’, for showing how well a spinup can go, even in difficult circumstances.
In other news, Warframe has been added to Tier IV, and four games in Beta Testing are looking for dedicated, passionate Spinup Leaders to steer them into full Vanguard status. These games are:
Neverwinter – Massively-Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (Cryptic Studios)
Titanfall 2 – First Person Shooter (Respawn Entertainment)
Battlerite – Team Arena Brawler (Stunlock Studios)
Rocket League – Physics-Based Vehicular Soccer Game (Psyonix)
