News is proud to be able to give the TAW community a brief look into Command Staff's personal as well as their responsibilities here in TAW. Thank you Ladies and Gentlemen for that opportunity.
Rage[WF DO]
Tell us a little about yourself and your time in TAW.
I joined TAW back in 2002 and played in the Ghost Recon Division. I still have fond memories of that game and still play it with a few of the old timers that still have a server running. I left TAW in 2003 to play World of Warcraft with some real life friends of mine. I played WOW 'til WOD then I found Ghost recon Phantoms and came back to TAW. While in GRP, I was the SO and helped rebuild the EU Battalion. When UBI (Ubisoft) shut Ghost Recon Protocol down, I moved to Warface Spin-up in Vanguard and helped move it to 8th Corps, where I am currently serving as the Division Officer.
In your experience, what is your philosophy on leadership and how has it evolved since you joined TAW?
I have been involved with several different gaming clans/guilds in my gaming career. I have seen many die and very few have survived the test of time. Most that died did so because they had no leadership structure and a code of ethics to guide it. Those who have survived have strong infrastructure and leadership policies that focus on helping their community as well as an administration.
If you had a crystal ball, what would you like to see in TAW’s future?
I would like to see TAW become the biggest and the best gaming community around and still maintain it's identity and philosophy that it presently embraces.
What advice would you give to somebody considering a leadership position in TAW?
My only advice is to be yourself. If you try to be something you're not, people will see this and you will lose respect from not just those below you, but your superiors as well.
What is your favorite thing about TAW as a community?
The friendships and the bonds that are formed, and of course you get to meet new people everyday in this community.

Talisac [CC 4CC]
CC Talisac is a player with a love for all gaming platforms, This made him a natural fit to help launch TAWs's early console gaming divisions. This led to a long stay in Vanguard, working every day to bring the TAW community to more and more people through the addition of new games. From his early days leading fire teams to his innovative ideas for maximizing the use of social media and streaming he has seen it all. NEWS caught up with the 4th Corps Commander and the interview was very informative.
Tell us a little about yourself and your time in TAW.
I joined TAW in 2005 in the Rainbow Six [RS] Division. I was recruited into TAW from my brother who was the current Squad Leader of the Diamondbacks Squad in Rainbow Six. I moved into a Drill Instructor position which I kept even while moving up through RS into the SA, SL, HDI, SO, XO and so on…
I am a gamer to the core and I enjoy playing games on every platform. It doesn’t matter what it is on. PC, Playstation, Xbox, mobile, handheld or on a table. Does not matter to me as long as there are good games, I am in.
Being a console gamer is what landed me in Vanguard spinning up Destiny, a Playstation 4 console only game for our community. Knowing this was going to be a very different task, it was a big trial and error spin up. See what works and what doesn’t. We were very close to launching the game 'til I had to move and pack away my systems for an unknown amount of time. That led me into the Vanguard VLC position and working with Kingcheese [VC CC] for nearly 2 years.
This month I accepted the position of 4th Corps Corps Commander, and I am looking forward to my new role in TAW and working with all the members in 4th Corps.
You have been in TAW since 2005, what would you say in your experience keep’s TAW relevant in today’s gaming community environment?
TAW today is structured so much differently than what it was in 2005. The streaming and social portion in TAW is big when it comes to getting our name and what we are out to the masses. For me the biggest thing that keeps TAW relevant to me, and has not changed, is having fun, and the people. It is why I joined TAW in the first place.
In your experience, what is your philosophy on leadership and how has it evolved since you joined
TAW?
I seem to remember in 2005 that leadership in certain areas was a closed door feeling. You could not approach them without the cost of a discharge. Fast forward to 2017, TAW is much different. Now I feel the doors have been open for members to come to all leadership. I feel that is the way it should be and is the biggest evolution for our community.
If you had a crystal ball, what would you like to see in TAW’s future?
I would like to see a different take on how we do streaming. I feel it is a great way to get our name out there, and if done correctly could sky rocket TAW to a new level. I have plenty of ideas on that, maybe we will see some of them in the future.
What advice would you give to somebody considering a leadership position in TAW?
The higher up you go into positions in TAW will mean less game time for you, so remember to still find ways to have fun and create fun for your members. Don’t get stuck doing nothing but admin. That is a fast track to burning yourself out.
Any decision you make that will affect your members, ask yourself is this the decision you would want placed on you? If so you should be making the right call.
Treat everyone fairly. Regardless if it is a REC or CIC. If you are treating everyone the same, with the same respect, you are on the right path. Never put yourself on a pedestal and remember we are all Gamers.
On a lighter side, can you tell us what was your favorite game in TAW and Why?
My favorite game that was a division is the one I joined TAW for in the first place. Rainbow Six Ravenshield. Plenty of fond memories with my squad mates from back then. More recently as a spin up team was Destiny. I could not get enough of that game and I met a lot of good people there as well.
What is your favorite thing about TAW as a community?
My favorite part of TAW and the community is the people. As VG VLC, I have had the opportunity to not only meet and work with several great VG staff, but a lot of the members that came through to spin up games while I was in Vanguard.
