Ghost Recon Phantoms is just one of 12 variations of the game, the first was Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2001, and the last one was Wildlands in 2015. Ghost Recon Phantoms, formerly Ghost Recon Online Came out in 2012 and was activated into Taw in 2013. Ubisoft then sometime in 2014 rolled out the name change to Ghost Recon Phantoms. This was Ubisofts one and only attempt at a free to play multiplayer game, and in the end it is probably the reason for its demise. Since its beginnings in Taw, hundreds upon hundreds have gone through the ranks, most will tell you that even by today’s standards, it was a great game. Many have weathered the ups and downs that all games experience, and yet the game survived right up to the point when Ubisoft pulled the plug. This speaks volumes about the people that are attracted to TAW.
I was the PIO in GRP Division, my last post was optimistic about the game. It seemed that a small number of changes had happened to the game itself, like small additions to maps, graphics. It gave everyone hope the game was trying to renew itself. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a false hope, leaving dedicated players here in TAW scratching their heads. Not enough can said for the GRP Division and how it not only survived but continued to prosper and grow. Everyone in GRP should feel extremely proud of themselves for hanging in there to the end! This continued support for the game is in part because of the Organization that is Taw, but more importantly the people within. The camaraderie and the family atmosphere bound us together under a common banner which is Taw; many if asked will tell you if it were not for that, they would have left long ago. Thanks for hanging in there, I am proud to have served with you.
In closing, I would like to add a personal reflection. When I joined TAW, I was looking for a gaming community with a heart that recognized the importance of the organism (which is its Members) and the organization (which is the Chain of Command). It was confirmed to me with my first contact as a new recruit. That person was Minion; this man exemplified what I was looking for in a gaming community. And as I soon found out, this attitude echoed throughout GRP. My point is, that it’s the people who make Taw a great community. Their dedication to the games they play, their never ending support with their time, talents is nothing short of amazing. I am proud to be a member of Taw and I salute everyone in GRP. I salute Ghost Recon Phantoms in its last days and remember the many hours of game play and the friendships formed. After all, we are a community of friends who support one another, and I encourage other games within Taw to reach out and welcome them. They are a great group of individuals, who would be an asset to any division they move too.
A big hoooorah for GRP, job well-done, my friends.
